Louise Grundy I am a 3D artist with over 25 years of experience as a textile artist and workshop teacher.
Drawing inspiration from researching of my family history, I experimented with paper mache and discovered an art form I loved and could employ to create sculptures of my ancestors.
Using photographs, birth, death and marriage certificates, I tells the story of their lives, building up their history layer by layer.
Initially the heads were a personal project, however after receiving lots of positive feedback both at exhibitions and on social media I now takes commissions for heads. (dead or alive!) Contact me to talk about your commission.
My work is ‘marmite’ you love them or you dislike them but they will always make you smile and want you to investigate them further, the words I have used on their faces, the papers I have recycled. I love making my heads and relish the problem solving to create them, weather it be a much loved relative or aged rockstar.
